My roots and passion for designing, remodelling homes, and incorporating spectacular landscape design stem from my earliest days in my hometown of Coral Gables, Florida. Its still a place of wondrous Spanish Colonial Architecture and lush tropical foliage. If that wasn’t enough, I was a bicycle ride from the incredible greenery of Coconut Grove, Matheson Hammock, and Fairchild Tropical Gardens.
Skateboarding on the pier that used to be the tip of South Beach was a passion that eventually gave way to snorkelling and diving in Biscayne Bay, where the annual lobster migration was just an absolute marvel to watch. Hurricane Harbor, No Name Harbour, Jimbo’s Smoke Shack, Monty’s on the Bay, the Village Inn, Stiltsville off of Key Biscayne, the Lighthouse; I know I’ve left a bunch of my spots out but it was just such a sublime place to grow up. But the dream has continued to morph and mature.
Kayaking in the Florida Keys, stopping for cracked conch and a cold one at the Pink Flamingo in Key Largo was such a simple pleasure that it was easy to take for granted…. exploring the Everglades, and eventually spotting a Ghost Orchid in the Fakahatchee Strand eventually set off the passion for orchids, and ultimately medicinal plants that are incorporated today in my Real Estate Developments and Opportunities seminars on the gorgeous Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.
The medicinal plant longhouse, or a hydroponics greenhouse, can be part of your income producing home and property in the Osa region of Costa Rica’s Southern Zone. Just give me a call. I’ll show you how to incorporate it beautifully on your property. Of course today, I use a 1991 4 x4 Toyota Land Cruiser Pick up truck to visit clients!
I still get back every once in a while to Miami for the Coconut Grove Grove Arts Festival, and then a little “cafecito” at Versailles Cuban Restaurant, or the Latin American Cafe. It’ll always be home!
